October Optimist Training Camp

This half-term programme offers a full week of performance coaching from 26-30 October 2026 for Optimist sailors competing at IOCA Coached or Regatta Fleet level, leading into the Royal Southern Halloween Pumpkin Optimist Open on Saturday 31 October, which sailors can choose to enter as an optional final day.

The week will provide a strong springboard for sailors preparing for the IOCA Winter Championships, with a focus on developing racing skills, boat speed, technique and race preparation.

Sailors should bring their own Optimist, although a limited number of club boats will be available to charter.

Coaching will be led by RYA Level 2 coaches or above, with strong racing and coaching experience within the Optimist class.
