Introduction to Race Management for Club Volunteers

Joint event between HRSC, RSrnYC and RSYC
To be held on Friday 22nd March at the RSrnYC, 18.00 20.00

Have you ever considered volunteering to help with the management of regattas, but wondered whether it was the thing for you? If so, why not come along to our joint event between HRSC, RSrnYC and RSYC on Friday 22nd March at the RSrnYC, 18.00 20.00, to find out what it's all about.
You will hear how the race team is composed and what happens on the water from a qualified Race Officer. Then an experienced volunteer will describe a typical race day, from the moment you arrive at the Clubhouse in the morning to tuck in to your bacon sarnie during the briefing, making friends with the rest of the team, to the post-race drinks back in the Clubhouse, where salty tales of happenings on the water are exchanged. 
This will be followed by interactive round-table sessions led by experienced Race Officers, who will explained the duties of each team member. Finally, we'll do some enactment of race starts and finishes, where you can try out the various roles within the team.

There is no charge for this event, but if you would like to attend, please register by Wednesday 20th March.

Current volunteers who would like to brush up their skills are also welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!
