Historian and author Marc Heighway explains how the New Forest saw a huge amount of activity during WW2. It was home to airfields, training area, D-Day embarkation areas, a secret spy school, a POW camp, trap were set for invading armies, and it was also the scene of the biggest ever bomb dropped on UK soil. This presentation takes for form of a photo tour and talk on areas of the New Forest you will be familiar with, but showing you things left over from the war and the stories behind them.
