Folly Inn Rally
The next rally is our very popular one to The Folly in the Medina River, set in the lovely sheltered sylvan setting 2 miles upstream of Cowes.
A good pick-me-up on the morning after the Cruiser Supper at the Club, after the short sail, we moor in our pre-reserved places on the mid-river pontoon. There will be a family BYOB and nibbles pontoon party at 18.00 Saturday, when we try not to depress the pontoon just below the surface (and occasionally fail). Members then either repair to friends' boats for supper or take the taxi-ferry across to the Folly Inn. If enough people wish to do the latter, please let me know, and I can reserve a group table for you.
The following morning, we will hold our internationally-famous model sailing-boat race featuring home-made craft constructed solely from detritus that you happen to have on board your mother ship on the day. Good fun for youngsters of all ages, followed by general dispersal to our home berths.
As always, I look forward to seeing you at our last major rally of the season.
Please indicate below if you plan to bring your your boat, so we have an idea of mooring requirements, and if you plan to eat ashore at the Folly Inn or onboard.
Best regards, & on behalf of the Cruising Committee,
Bryan Hughes, Karisma.
