Christmas Sailover to Cowes

The annual sailover to Cowes is the final rally of the cruising year and will take place on 4th and 5th December. We are again being kindly hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron who have made available berths in the Haven and several rooms in the RYS. This is a popular event, and given the time of year, many members of the RSrnYC elect to join the rally via ferry.
The format will be the same as in previous years, with a tour of the RYS on the afternoon of 4th December, followed by pre-dinner drinks and a buffet supper.
ATTIRE
This is a semi formal occasion and we do need to adhere to the RYS dress code. Dress is reefers or jacket and tie.
EVENT
This is always a popular event and has become as much a social gathering of Club members at the end of the season as a rally event. The RYS look after us extremely well and it is a very convivial gathering and for many marks the start of the Christmas festivity season.
As there are limited rooms, berths and to a certain extent place settings, the RSrnYC Cruising Committee has put in place some priorities:
- Tour of RYS and Supper is open initially to just RSrnYC members and their partners
- A reserve list will be maintained for guests of RSrnYC members who are neither members of the Club or partners.
- Those attending can either request a room or a berth in the Haven but not both. This is to ensure the maximum number of people are able to stay close to the venue
- If there are insufficient berths on the Haven and rooms in the RYS, we recommend booking into Cowes Yacht Haven and the RORC
The cost for the evening is £64 per person, which includes a tour of the RYS, pre-supper drinks and supper.
PLEASE CHOOSE TO STAY IN THE HAVEN, OR ROOMS. DO NOT BOOK BOTH.
ROOMS
Can be requested. Note that this is room rate only and does not include breakfast.
- £172 single occupancy
- £198 double occupancy
BREAKFAST
£23.25 per person. Breakfast is open to all those attending whether staying at the RYS, in the Haven or Cowes Yacht Haven.
HAVEN
As highlighted to enable as many attendees as possible to stay near or in the RYS members can book either a place in the Haven or a room. Allocation of either will be made once all bookings have been received.
In the event that either are over-subscribed the RSrnYC Cruising Committee applies the following prioritisation which generally reflects the level of participation in Cruising activities and support during the year:
- RYS Members
- RSrnYC members who have taken part in Cruising Rallies in 2025
- RSrnYC members of the Cruising Committee and members of the Executive
- RSrnYC Members
